Bay View Rental Information and Rules


Welcome to Bay View! We hope that you will have an enjoyable stay with us and experience everything Bay View has to offer. Bay View is a peaceful, family oriented community and we ask that you respect your neighbors and the overall rules of the community. See Rules on Page 2.
Information about events during your stay is available from the Summer Program book, the Town Crier newsletter, or at www.bayviewassociation.org. Maps are available at the Administration Office in Wade Hall. Please join us in taking advantage of all that Bay View has to offer.
As a Chautauqua, Bay View offers programs in four areas: Worship, Performing Arts, Education, and Recreation.
 Sunday worship service is conducted at 10:45 a.m. in Hall Auditorium
 Religion and Life lectures are Monday thru Thursday at 10:00 in Voorhies
 Vespers: Sunday Night Concerts are held at 8 p.m. in Hall Auditorium
 Faculty Artist Series Wednesday Concerts are held at 8 p.m. in Hall Auditorium
 Each season we present a musical and an opera
 Educational classes, including cooking, arts, and crafts, are scheduled throughout the season. Consult the Program Book for current offerings.
 International films are shown Mondays at 8 p.m. in Voorhies Hall
 A library is available. Hours are M-Th 9:30-noon and 1:30-4:30. Friday 9:30-noon. 231-347-6393
 The Bay View Woods are open for your walking pleasure
 Our museum is open Sundays after worship until 1 p.m., and Mon/Wed 1-2:30
 The waterfront is open for swimming each afternoon, with lifeguards on duty from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
 Tennis courts are available, when not being used for lessons
 Tennis and sailing lessons are available for your children
 The Boys and Girls Club is available on a daily or weekly basis; the Fawns and Tot Lot are available on a weekly basis
 The Box Office is your source for tickets to concerts, the musical, and the opera. It is also the place to register and pay fees for classes, lessons, tennis court fees, and Club/Fawns/Tot Lot. It is open from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Bay View Rental Rules
**These policies and rules are strictly enforced by Bay View staff, daily security monitoring, and the police department, if necessary.**
 Maintenance of Leasehold- Cottages, buildings, and grounds are to be kept in a neat and sanitary condition. Garbage should be in designated receptacles. No littering is permitted. Trash in red bags must be out by 8 am Monday. Recycle items in green bins by 8 am Thursday.
 Fires- Open fires are not permitted in Bay View.
 Noise- Bay View maintains a quiet and peaceful environment. Many cottages have open windows without air conditioning and noise travels. Please make every effort to keep noise at a minimum. Quiet hours begin at 10PM and extend until 8AM.
 Controlled Substances & Alcoholic Beverages- controlled substances are not permitted anywhere in Bay View except in accordance with the Controlled Substance Act. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in any of the public buildings or on the Associationís public grounds.
 Weapons, Firearms, and Fireworks shall not be used in Bay View. This includes Chinese Lanterns.
 Breach of Peace- No person shall cause any disturbance, noise, or otherwise conduct themselves in such a way as to create a breach of peace.
 Pets- Dogs or other pets shall be allowed on the grounds if they are kept on a leash or confined within an enclosed building or area. They shall be kept in such a manner as not to disturb neighbors. You must clean up after your dog.
 Sunday- Sunday is regarded as a day of rest. Organized programs, waterfront activities, and activities other than religious services or activities shall not be carried out between 7:00 a.m. and Noon.
 Traffic and Vehicle Regulations- the Association has adopted the Uniform Traffic Code of the State of Michigan, as amended, as the traffic regulations governing all streets, lanes, and alleys in Bay View. The posted speed limit of Bay View is 15 miles per hour. Drivers shall take special precautions for children, whether riding bicycles or on foot. Stop signs are to be observed. Gasoline-fueled motorcycles, mopeds, motorbikes or motor scooters are not allowed.
 No Smoking- There shall be no smoking in public buildings and recreation areas.
 Boats, motor homes, trailers, vans, or recreational vehicles containing sleeping accommodations shall not be permitted on the grounds for more than 24 hours per season except at an approved parking area designated by the Superintendent.
 Parking- Renters are encouraged to park within the designated parking spaces on the lot and block of your rental, or adjacent to the street directly in front of or behind your rental. There is an overflow parking lot open for your use by Russell Hall on Water Street.
 Recycling- Curbside recycling is every Thursday. Totes must be outside by 8:00 A.M. Totes should not be put out on any day other than Wednesday or Thursday morning by 8AM.
